Data Jurisdiction and Amazon Web Services

Australian businesses collecting personal data from customers have a compliance burden around the transport and privacy of that data. Offshore providers such as Amazon Web Services can complicate those compliance issues under certain local regulations as some of AWS data centres are outside of Australia

Being US-based, AWS is also required to allow access to your data under the US Patriot Act. This is true even though AWS has some Australian data centres.

You can use the API keys with a range of third party services – such as iOmega, GeoDrive and Ninefold Fox — to connect to your account and use it straight away.
